Hurry….

But hurry, let’s entwine ourselves as one,
our mouth broken, our soul bitten by love, so time discovers us safely destroyed.

yes|no...

When you say 'yes' to others, make sure you aren’t saying ‘no’ to yourself.

I wish...

And your voice is still my favorite song, my favorite sound, my favorite softness.

crimson….

It was November - the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep,
sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines.

Once...

Once, Picasso was asked what his paintings meant.
He said, “Do you ever know what the birds are singing? You don’t. But you listen to them anyway.”

Choice...

He loved her, of course, but better than that, he chose her, day after day.
Choice: that was the thing.
— The Toughest Indian In The World, Sherman Alexie

colour...

I bought plum blossoms
more for the name
than for the colour;
I buy lipstick that way, too.
In other words,
if it sounds like a poem,
I'll take it.

and then...

and then she would smile,

i was going to cry...

I was going to cry.
I didn't know why I was going to cry, but I knew that if anybody spoke to me or looked at me too closely the tears would fly out of my eyes and the sobs would fly out of my throat and I'd cry for a week.
I could feel the tears brimming and sloshing in me like water in a glass that is unsteady and too full.
'a black and white poem', vogue turkey march 2012, sarah moon

you...

You are always ticking inside of me and I dream of you more often than I don't.
My body is a dead language and you pronounce each word perfectly.
sierra demulder, from unrequited love poem

they

they are fleeting.
they are fragile.
they require

little water
they’ll surprise you.
they’ll remind you

that they aren’t
and that they are you.

each day is a miracle...

she would consider each day a miracle - which indeed it is,

when you consider the number of unexpected things

that could happen in each second of our fragile existences.

…in my dreams the world would come alive,
 becoming so captivatingly majestic,
free and ethereal,
that afterwards it would be oppressive to breathe the dust of this painted life.

everything carries me to you...

everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
