After graduating from the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague in the Netherlands- Mady moved to London to work for a Textile Design Company (specialising in colour forecasting, textiles, fashion design and the associated promotion, marketing and branding). Three months turned into 4 years and a bit.
Fast forward, she painted for many years and held exibitions in the Netherlands, UK and America. She also had a restaurant and an organic food store. Mady now lives in Austalia with her family and does what she loves most: working with fabrics.
Mady offers hand-made garments, created with care in small editions.
"I hope to contribute to kind and thoughtful design that is dedicated to the idea that less is more." Sustainability is a natural aspect of her working method.
Many pieces span seasons with simple forms for timeless appeal.
Each piece has been designed with sustainablity in mind with the use of natural fibres and fabrics such as organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, linen, end of the line, silk, recycled + reclaimed fabric and materials. Use of natural plant and fruit dyes. She is always looking into new ways to minimise the impact ot the enviroment. Garments are designed and made in her own studio.
"At the end of it all- I have pieces of work that reflect my passion and appreciation for design + the environment."
