a 'little' break..

i don't post many personal notes on abundance...
i am taking a 'little' break. one of my close friends has just passed away and i need some time... to think things over. i feel incredible sad for her family. she is an incredible woman. i will miss our outings, lunches, phone calls, exploring antique shops, our laughs and giggles, our cries- but sometimes we would sit together in silence... i miss you xxx

tears

and presently i was driving through the drizzle
of the dying day, with the windshield wipers in
full action but unable to cope with my tears.

freeze

her watch was so delicate
that the perfume of the roses
in the warm garden breeze
could stop its hands
time would go still
and freeze

be yourself

eventually i discovered for myself the utterly simple
prescription for creativity: be intensely yourself.
don’t try to be outstanding;
don’t try to be a success;
don’t try to do pictures for others to look at -
just please yourself.

michael eastman

michael eastman's colours of cuba
each photo full of colour- a place where the
present lives in an evidently historical past.
walls dripping with stories told + untold.
i did find those images here but they are also seen here

currently reading

i am reading rembrandt's whore at the moment by sylvie matton.
it's beautifully written- serene, subtle,
honest and emotional, using rich historical detail.
