stars

all the umbrellas in London
couldn’t hide my love for you
run to the window and call out my name
we
’ll meet where the sun goes to hide from the rain
from the rain, from the rain

walks...

long walks at night-
that's good for the soul.
peeking into windows
watching tired housewives
trying to fight off
their maddened husbands

keeping things whole

in a field
i am the absence of field.
this is
always the case.

wherever i am
i am what is missing,
when i walk

i part the air
and always
the air moves into fill the spaces
where my body’s been.
we all have reasons
for moving.
i move
to keep things whole.

the perfect day...

map shower
i want your hair
to cover me with maps
of new places,
so everywhere i go
will be as beautiful
as your hair
'richard brautigan'

you know quite well,
deep within you,
that there is only a single magic,
a single power,
a single salvation...and that is called loving.
well, then,
love your suffering.
do not resist it,
do not flee from it.
it is your aversion that hurts,
nothing else

the coming of light

even this late it happens:
the coming of love, the coming of light.
you wake and the candles are lit as if by themselves,
stars gather, dreams pour into your pillows,
sending up warm bouquets of air.
even this late the bones of the body shine
and tomorrow’s dust flares into breath.

tie

tie your heart at night to mine, love,
and both will defeat the darkness
like twin drums beating in the forest
against the heavy wall of wet leaves.

?
night crossing: black coal of dream
that cuts the thread of earthly orbs
with the punctuality of a head
long train that pulls cold stone and shadow endlessly.

love, because of it, tie me to a purer
movement,
to the grip on life that beats in your breast,
with the wings of a submerged swan,
so that our dream might reply
to the sky’s questioning stars with one key,
one door closed to shadow. 'pablo neruda'

cause I like to be gone most of the time
and you like to be home most of the time
if I stay in one place i lose my mind
i’m a pretty impossible lady to be with

alone

from childhood's hour I have not been

as others were; i have not seen
as others saw; i could not bring
my passions from a common spring.
from the same source i have not taken
my sorrow; i could not awaken
my heart to joy at the same tone;
and all I loved, i loved alone.
then- in my childhood, in the dawn
of a most stormy life- was drawn
from every depth of good and ill

the mystery which binds me still:
from the torrent, or the fountain,
from the red cliff of the mountain,
from the sun that round me rolled
in its autumn tint of gold,

from the lightning in the sky
as it passed me flying by,
from the thunder and the storm,
and the cloud that took the form

(when the rest of heaven was blue)
of a demon in my view.

so...

so cold winds carried me off
along with purple leaf explosions
and golden dreams
while you stayed behind
in the soft grass of the past
sipping your spirits,
pretending i was still there.
in the winter
i’ll light a candle
for the dead or the dying,
and listen to the wind
whisper your name.

photo oh jung seok
where you used to be,
there is a hole in the world,
which i find myself constantly walking around
in the daytime,
and falling in at night.
i miss you like hell.

i am tired, beloved,
of chafing my heart against
the wanting of you;
of squeezing it into little ink drops,
and posting it.

we-outgrow-love

we outgrow love like other things
and put it in the drawer,
till it an antique fashion shows
like costumes grandsires wore.

almost

i hide myself within my flower,
that wearing on your breast,
you, unsuspecting, wear me too -
and angels know the rest.
i hide myself within my flower,
that, fading from your vase,
you, unsuspecting, feel for me
almost a loneliness.

free

some feelings seem to be caught into cages
you want to break the door open
but the doors are always locked
and won’t open
until you very softly
open your heart.

a simple secret

you never really existed.
+
neither did i.
i am just a thought in your dreams.
+ you are a dream in my thoughts.
love this image it's so sweet and innocent- is it?

these are things that i could not tell you;
things that remind me of you when i want nothing more than to forget;
things that have gone wrong;
things that have gone right;
things that will never happen;
things that are your fault,
my fault,
the faults of no one;
these are things that we did not do and will not let go of

...

yeah, I remember you
telling me how you like it
when it's cold,
how good to feel the wind prickle
your skin, like needles
sewing invisible threads
on you arms and neck.
but see, what I like about the cold
is how much more I feel
the warmth of a jacket, how
you could be in this twin-sized bed,
right now,
ignoring its squeaky metal frame and
snuggling close to me, for warmth,
our cold hands and cold feet touching
under three-layered blankets;
your warm breath at the surprised
contact.
