again and again

.

again and again
again and again, however we know the landscape of love
and the little churchyard there, with its sorrowing names,
and the frighteningly silent abyss into which the others
fall: again and again the two of us walk out together
under the ancient trees, lie down again and again
among the flowers, face to face with the sky.

a happy man...

because i don’t live in either my past or my future.
i’m interested only in the present.
if you can concentrate always on the present,
you’ll be a happy man.
you’ll see that there is life in the desert,
that there are stars in the heavens,
and that tribesmen fight because they are part of the human race.
life will be a party for you,
a grand festival, because life is the moment we’re living right now.

to read in the morning and at night:

my love
has told me
that he needs me.

that’s why
i take good care of myself
watch out where I’m going and
fear that any drop of rain
might kill me.

you say....

you say that you love rain, but you open your umbrella when it rains. you say that you love the sun, but you find a shadow spot when the sun shines. you say that you love the wind, but you close your windows when wind blows. this is why i am afraid, you say that you love me too.

there is never time....

there is never a time or place for true love.
it happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.

on another note

i have had so many interruptions lately, mostly good. one of them was a wonderful few days away with some lovely dear 'old' friends to stradbroke island. hard to believe it is winter.... we had many days full of sunshine.
it has been five years since i last saw my  friends, but it was if we only saw each other yesterday...

my new computer is wonderful and i am getting back into the swing of it. i am working on my website (which seem to take forever) is slowly coming together.

....soon available

she covered her eyes....

"…she covered her eyes with her hands and cried,
tears seeped between her fingers and collected in the little webs,
she cried and cried and cried,
there weren’t any napkins nearby so i ripped the page from the book— ‘i don’t speak. i’m sorry.’ —and used it to dry her cheeks, my explanation and apology ran down her face like mascara…"

barbara munsel

my dear friend barbara munsel's collection come slowly, eden- fall winter 2011/12 is stunningly beautiful. her clothing is an expression of herself: every piece is born directly from her sensibilities.

come slowly,
eden
lips unused to thee.
bashful, sip thy jasmines,
as the fainting bee,
reaching late his flower,
round her chamber hums,
counts his nectars -alights,
and is lost in balms!

phrase...

writing is the same as music. it’s in how you phrase it, how you hold back the note, bend it, shape it, then release it.
and what you don’t play is as important as what you do say.

it is good to love many things

it is good to love many things, for therein lies strength,
and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much,  and what is done with love is well done.

sing...

at times it feels like music is an excuse to be a human.
it feels like people need that excuse to go and put their arms in the air and sing their hearts out.

i think you know it

i felt like crying but nothing came out.
it was just a sort of sad sickness, sick sad, when you can’t feel any worse.
i think you know it. i think everybody knows it now and then.
but i think i have known it pretty often, too often.

belong...

everything has its own place and function. that applies to people, although many don’t seem to realize it, stuck as they are in the wrong job, the wrong marriage, or the wrong house. when you know and respect your inner nature, you know where you belong. you also know where you don’t belong.

good-byes

i've learned that good-byes will always hurt,
pictures will never replace having been there,
memories good and bad will bring tears,
and words never replace feelings
